We recently engaged this team for our pest control needs. Adam provided an extensive overview of his services and quoted a vastly more competitive rate. After two service calls we're not only impressed by Adam's expertise but the level of service is absolutely astonishing (we're from New York and that's not easily done). They deserve 10 stars and should be everyone's choice for pest care.

Pest Control Services in Venice, FL—Smart, Local, & Seriously Effective!
Waves Pest Control provides comprehensive pest management across Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, Venice, Parrish, and Palmetto. Five offices, daily routes in every city, and a full-service team covering pest control, lawn care, and termite protection under one roof.
Comprehensive pest control means ongoing protection, not one-off treatments. Waves Pest Control provides year-round service built around seasonal pressure — quarterly perimeter treatments, targeted interior work when needed, and proactive monitoring between visits. Prevention costs less than reaction.
In Venice, the right pest control service isn’t a product off a shelf — it’s a plan matched to your address. A 1920s heartwood bungalow on the Island of Venice, a 1960s canal home in Venice Gardens, a snowbird condo closed from April to October, and a Wellen Park build that just got its certificate of occupancy each need a different cadence, a different chemistry, and a different set of inspection points. That’s why every Waves Pest Control service plan starts the same way: a detailed inspection that maps what is actually active at your property, then a written WaveGuard plan built around it. We never sell a generic quarterly spray from a franchise binder.
Inspection-First Service Plans — How a Venice Program Gets Built
Before we quote a cadence, a technician walks the property: perimeter, eaves and soffits, attic access, plumbing penetrations, and — on older Island and downtown stock — window frames, fascia, and trim for drywood termite frass. What we find decides the plan. Most Venice homes land on one of three WaveGuard cadences:
- Monthly — Gulf-front and Island of Venice homes, seasonal rentals, and any property carrying heavy mosquito, no-see-um, or drywood-swarm pressure that needs a tight reset between visits.
- Bi-monthly — the common middle for mainland single-family homes and snowbird properties that want exterior protection maintained without a tech on site every four weeks.
- Quarterly — the standard perimeter program: full exterior barrier three feet out and three feet up, eaves and soffits de-webbed, interior crack-and-crevice work where pressure shows, and a digital report with photos every visit.
Every cadence includes unlimited free re-treats between scheduled visits and a money-back guarantee, with no contract lock-in. Autopay enrollment is required.
Bundling Pest, Lawn, and Termite Under One Plan
The advantage of a service plan over a one-off call is that the same Venice team handles the whole property. We bundle general pest with lawn care, mosquito and no-see-um barrier, and termite coverage through the WaveGuard tiers — Bronze is the quarterly-pest base, with Silver, Gold, and Platinum layering on services. On the Island that usually means pest plus a documented annual termite inspection plus salt-stress St. Augustine support; on the mainland it is often pest plus a perimeter and new-turf lawn program. WaveGuard members get 10 to 20% off services, priority scheduling, a free annual termite inspection, and one tech who knows the property’s full history.

Venice Service Programs, Matched to How Your Home Is Built and Used
Venice packs more housing types into a small footprint than almost anywhere in Sarasota County, and each one drives a different service plan. Here is how we scope coverage across the four Venice realities we see most.
Historic Island of Venice — Drywood, Termite Bonds, and Carpenter Ants
The Island of Venice and the downtown historic stock are the heaviest drywood termite zone in our entire service area. Pre-1970 bungalows framed in old-growth heartwood, decades of coastal spring swarm pressure, and homes that have been tented one or more times already mean drywood is part of the ownership equation, not an occasional surprise. So a service plan here leads with structure: every visit includes drywood monitoring of window frames, fascia, trim, and attic access for fresh pellet frass, and we recommend pairing the pest plan with a documented annual termite inspection and a termite bond so coverage is continuous rather than reactive. Salt air keeps softening that old wood, which is why carpenter ants are a recurring island call — they hollow galleries in the exact wet trim the Gulf air produces, so the plan flags the moisture source, not just the ant trail. Because so many island bungalows hide tongue-and-groove ceilings and wood-paneled walls, our WDO inspections here run longer than the mainland, and at resale we sign the FDACS Form 13645 clearance documentation that lenders and title companies need to close.
Gulf, Casey Key, and Barrier-Island Homes — Monthly No-See-Um, Mosquito, and Drywood Season
Homes along the Gulf, Casey Key, Nokomis Beach, and the Manasota Key side live with exposure the mainland does not. Mangrove edges and the brackish stretches off the passes produce salt-tolerant mosquitoes and no-see-um midges that a quarterly cadence simply cannot hold, so these properties usually run a monthly barrier program tuned for salt-adjacent use. Salt air also accelerates wood deterioration, so drywood swarm season gets the same window-frame and fascia monitoring we run on the island. Coastal elevation and flood-zone realities matter too: lower, water-adjacent foundations and aging screen and pool-cage enclosures collect orb weavers and brown widows that rebuild within weeks, so de-webbing and harborage treatment are standing line items, not add-ons, on these plans.
Seasonal and Snowbird Homes — Vacant-Home Prevention and Bi-Monthly Checks
Venice carries one of the highest seasonal-occupancy rates in Sarasota County, and a home that sits closed from April through October is a different pest-control problem than one lived in year-round. Empty homes build up moisture, draw palmetto bugs up through floor drains, and give rodents months of undisturbed access. Our seasonal plans are built around the vacancy rather than fighting it: exterior barrier maintenance on a bi-monthly check schedule while owners are north, monitored interior placements, and a thorough interior re-treat timed to your arrival. For island and key rentals we sequence service to the booking calendar so units get hit between guests, and we coordinate directly with property managers on turnover and condo common-area work.
Mainland Communities — East Venice, Jacaranda, and Venice Gardens Quarterly Perimeter and New Turf
On the mainland the standard quarterly perimeter program does the heavy lifting. East Venice, Jacaranda West, The Plantation, South Venice, and Venice Gardens are mostly 1960s–70s concrete-block homes laced with the canal grid, where subterranean termites exploit older mulch beds and railroad-tie landscaping and Norway rats run the canal banks and storm drains into garages and attics. So the quarterly plan here adds rodent station checks and exclusion at soffit transitions and utility penetrations, plus subterranean termite coverage through Termidor soil treatment or Trelona bait stations rather than the tenting the island needs. The golf-course corridors of Jacaranda and The Plantation push roof rats and trailing ants along the tree canopy, and any newly sodded lawn — common as Wellen Park and the new construction south of US-41 fill in — needs a fire-ant and new-turf component bundled in.
Comparing the Plans and Bundling It All
Across all four, the differences come down to cadence and inclusions: monthly for Gulf and rental pressure, bi-monthly for snowbird and mainland single-family, quarterly for the standard perimeter — every pest plan carrying the same unlimited free re-treats and money-back guarantee. The savings come from bundling. Adding lawn, mosquito and no-see-um barrier, or termite coverage onto the Bronze pest plan through the Silver, Gold, and Platinum WaveGuard tiers drops the add-on cost and puts one Venice team, with one record of your property’s history, on everything. Termite work carries no guarantee of its own: a renewable termite warranty is optional and sold separately, with its own written terms. Call (941) 297-3337 or email contact@wavespestcontrol.com to scope your plan after a free inspection.

Questions We Hear Every Day
Quick answers from our SWFL pest pros.
I don't see any pests — do I still need pest control?
Fair question. In Southwest Florida, by the time you spot a roach in the kitchen or ghost ants on the counter, there's usually a colony somewhere you can't see. Our humidity, rainy season, and slab-on-grade homes keep pests active all 12 months.
What a quarterly visit does:
- Renews the exterior treatment before sun and rain wear it down
- Catches entry points — weep holes, soffit gaps, slab cracks — before anything moves in
- Covers you between visits: on a recurring plan, if covered pests show up, we come back free
If you're pest-free right now, that's the easiest time to start. We're maintaining, not chasing.
Why are ongoing treatments necessary instead of just an initial one?
Because Florida has no off-season. Warm, wet weather keeps ants, roaches, and spiders active year-round, and exterior treatments wear down in the sun and rain. Recurring visits renew that protection, catch new entry points, and adjust to what's active each season — ghost ants in the rainy months, rodents moving indoors in the cooler ones. The first service knocks the population down. Recurring visits keep it down.
Do your prices go up?
On a month-to-month residential plan, each service's rate holds for your first 12 months; your WaveGuard bundle discount follows the services you keep. After that we review a rate once a year, and if it changes you'll hear from us in writing at least 30 days before the new rate applies, with the reason. Month-to-month plans have no contract — cancel anytime. Termite programs and warranties, annual-contract plans such as mosquito misting systems, and commercial accounts follow their own agreements.
Is it necessary for me to be at home during pest and lawn services?
For your first pest control visit, yes. We walk the property with you, look at problem spots, and treat inside. After that, most pest visits are exterior, so you don't need to be home; if a visit includes interior work, we'll set a time with you. Lawn service happens outdoors, so you don't need to be home for any lawn visit. Either way, you get a digital service report with photos when we're done.
Why hire a professional when I can do it myself?
You can handle a lot yourself: seal gaps, fix leaks, pull mulch back from the foundation. A pro earns the fee in the parts that are easy to get wrong. That means identifying the exact species (ghost ants and fire ants need opposite approaches), choosing products that won't scatter a colony, and getting into attics and soffits. On a recurring plan, we also come back free if pests return. Store-bought repellent sprays often push ants and roaches deeper into the walls instead of ending the problem.
What are these tiny bugs in my pantry?
Usually one of three: Indian meal moths (small moths, plus webbing in grain or cereal), rice weevils (tiny beetles with a snout, in rice and pasta), or flour beetles (small reddish-brown beetles in flour and baking mixes). Throw out infested food, vacuum the shelves, and move dry goods into sealed containers. If they keep coming back after a thorough clean-out, call us and we'll track down the source.
Why do you treat both the inside and outside of my home?
The first visit covers both: we treat what's active indoors and set up protection outside. After that, recurring visits focus on the exterior — the perimeter, eaves, and entry points — because that's where most Florida pests come from. If you need an inside treatment between visits, we'll come back for that too, free on a recurring plan.
