We recently engaged this team for our pest control needs. Adam provided an extensive overview of his services and quoted a vastly more competitive rate. After two service calls we're not only impressed by Adam's expertise but the level of service is absolutely astonishing (we're from New York and that's not easily done). They deserve 10 stars and should be everyone's choice for pest care.

Cockroach Control in Venice, FL — Waves Pest Control
Want the species-by-species version of how we treat roaches? Start with our cockroach control program page.
Looking for cockroach control near me in Venice, FL? Our nearby roach exterminators handle German cockroaches, American cockroaches, palmetto bugs, and every species in between. Local same-day service in Venice with quarterly prevention plans that help reduce roach reinfestation — because one treatment isn’t enough in Florida. Cockroach control that lasts requires understanding the species and their entry points. German roaches breed indoors; smokybrowns and palmettos invade from outside. Waves Pest Control tailors treatment to the species present — interior bait placement for Germans, perimeter defense for outdoor invaders.
Venice sits at the southern edge of our SWFL service network, and the roach pressure there is unlike anything further north. Saltwater proximity on the Island, rapid new construction in Wellen Park, and dense vacation-rental turnover on Casey Key all drive different species into different property types. Waves Pest Control runs a dedicated Venice route out of our closest office so response times stay under two hours for most of the city.
Why Venice Homeowners Choose Waves
Most Venice pest control calls start the same way — a homeowner tries store-bought sprays, sees a temporary drop, and then the roaches come back harder. The issue is almost never “wrong product.” It’s wrong diagnosis. American cockroaches pushing in through pool cage framing need a different treatment than German roaches breeding inside a rental kitchen, and both need a different approach than the smokybrown roaches flying into tile-roof attics from mature canopy.
Waves Pest Control runs cockroach control across five SWFL offices — Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, Parrish, and Venice. That footprint means your Venice technician isn’t driving from Tampa. They’re local, they know the construction patterns south of the Myakka, and they carry the full product rotation on the truck.
What to Expect from a Venice Cockroach Service
- Free inspection — We identify species, map entry points, and document harborage zones before quoting anything. No charge, no obligation.
- Species-matched treatment — German colonies get targeted gel bait with active-ingredient rotation. American and smokybrown roaches get crack-and-crevice residual treatment in soffits, wall voids, and screen enclosure framing. Exterior perimeters get granular and liquid barriers tuned to outside-breeding species.
- Follow-up built in — Sticky monitors in high-risk zones between visits. If activity returns, we come back at no additional cost.
- Ongoing protection — Most Venice customers pair cockroach control with a WaveGuard membership for year-round coverage that also covers ants, spiders, and other household pests.
Same-Day Scheduling Across Venice
Because we route out of a local office, same-day service is available for most Venice addresses — Venice Island, South Venice, Wellen Park, Jacaranda West, and the mainland neighborhoods between US-41 and I-75. Emergency calls for German roach infestations in rental properties get priority scheduling.

Cockroach Species in Venice and What They Tell Us
- German cockroaches — Small, light brown, indoor-only. If you’re seeing them in a Venice Island short-term rental kitchen or a Venice Gardens older home, you have a colony — not a stray. They breed inside the structure and don’t come from outside.
- American cockroaches (“palmetto bugs”) — The large reddish-brown roaches Venice homeowners see most often. They breed outside in mangrove edges, storm drains, and palm debris, then push into homes through soffit gaps, weep holes, and screen enclosure tears.
- Smokybrown cockroaches — Strong fliers, attracted to porch lights. Common in older Venice Island attics, Venice Gardens soffits, and any tile roof with palm canopy directly overhanging it.
- Asian cockroaches — Look like German roaches but live outside in turf and mulch. Wellen Park yards see these — they fly toward open doors and porch lights at dusk.
How We Treat Roaches in Venice
The treatment matches the species and the property type, not a one-size protocol:
- Property-specific inspection — On Venice Island and older South Venice homes, we map plumbing chases, attic access, and pool cage breach points. On Wellen Park new builds, we focus on slab-line penetrations, weep holes, and irrigation-adjacent walls.
- Targeted gel bait for German colonies — Rotation-based bait strategies behind cabinets, inside appliance motor housings, and along plumbing penetrations. German roaches develop resistance fast, so we rotate active ingredients between visits.
- Crack and crevice treatment for American and smokybrown — Residual products in soffit voids, attic edges, screen enclosure framing, and wall voids around plumbing.
- Exterior perimeter for outside-breeding species — Granular and liquid barriers around foundations, screen enclosures, irrigation boxes, and mulch lines where palmetto bugs and Asian roaches stage before entry.
- Monitoring and follow-up — Sticky monitors in high-risk zones and adjustment between visits until activity is at zero.

Questions We Hear Every Day
Quick answers from our SWFL pest pros.
I don't see any pests — do I still need pest control?
Fair question. In Southwest Florida, by the time you spot a roach in the kitchen or ghost ants on the counter, there's usually a colony somewhere you can't see. Our humidity, rainy season, and slab-on-grade homes keep pests active all 12 months.
What a quarterly visit does:
- Renews the exterior treatment before sun and rain wear it down
- Catches entry points — weep holes, soffit gaps, slab cracks — before anything moves in
- Covers you between visits: on a recurring plan, if covered pests show up, we come back free
If you're pest-free right now, that's the easiest time to start. We're maintaining, not chasing.
Why are ongoing treatments necessary instead of just an initial one?
Because Florida has no off-season. Warm, wet weather keeps ants, roaches, and spiders active year-round, and exterior treatments wear down in the sun and rain. Recurring visits renew that protection, catch new entry points, and adjust to what's active each season — ghost ants in the rainy months, rodents moving indoors in the cooler ones. The first service knocks the population down. Recurring visits keep it down.
Do your prices go up?
On a month-to-month residential plan, each service's rate holds for your first 12 months; your WaveGuard bundle discount follows the services you keep. After that we review a rate once a year, and if it changes you'll hear from us in writing at least 30 days before the new rate applies, with the reason. Month-to-month plans have no contract — cancel anytime. Termite programs and warranties, annual-contract plans such as mosquito misting systems, and commercial accounts follow their own agreements.
Is it necessary for me to be at home during pest and lawn services?
For your first pest control visit, yes. We walk the property with you, look at problem spots, and treat inside. After that, most pest visits are exterior, so you don't need to be home; if a visit includes interior work, we'll set a time with you. Lawn service happens outdoors, so you don't need to be home for any lawn visit. Either way, you get a digital service report with photos when we're done.
Why hire a professional when I can do it myself?
You can handle a lot yourself: seal gaps, fix leaks, pull mulch back from the foundation. A pro earns the fee in the parts that are easy to get wrong. That means identifying the exact species (ghost ants and fire ants need opposite approaches), choosing products that won't scatter a colony, and getting into attics and soffits. On a recurring plan, we also come back free if pests return. Store-bought repellent sprays often push ants and roaches deeper into the walls instead of ending the problem.
What are these tiny bugs in my pantry?
Usually one of three: Indian meal moths (small moths, plus webbing in grain or cereal), rice weevils (tiny beetles with a snout, in rice and pasta), or flour beetles (small reddish-brown beetles in flour and baking mixes). Throw out infested food, vacuum the shelves, and move dry goods into sealed containers. If they keep coming back after a thorough clean-out, call us and we'll track down the source.
Why do you treat both the inside and outside of my home?
The first visit covers both: we treat what's active indoors and set up protection outside. After that, recurring visits focus on the exterior — the perimeter, eaves, and entry points — because that's where most Florida pests come from. If you need an inside treatment between visits, we'll come back for that too, free on a recurring plan.
