What drives the forecast
Built on real Florida conditions
The forecast is an informational model — a transparent blend of seasonality and live weather, not a measurement. Its accuracy against local pest observations has not yet been validated. Here's exactly what goes into it.
Florida seasonality
Each pest carries a month-by-month baseline tuned to Gulf-Coast Florida phenology — mosquito wet-season peaks, spring termite swarms, cool-season rodent pushes.
Live local weather
We pull the current National Weather Service outlook for the selected city — daytime highs and rain chances — and nudge the baseline up or down.
Clear comparisons
Above or below baseline compares the outlook with the usual seasonal model. When comparable history is available, a dated comparison shows how the modeled outlook changed from seven days earlier. Neither is a count of pests observed.
Questions
Good to know
Is the widget really free?
Yes. It is free to embed on any website, with no account, API key, or sign-up. We just ask that you keep the small "Powered by Waves Pest Control" link intact.
How is the forecast calculated?
It blends documented Florida pest seasonality with the live National Weather Service outlook for the city you choose. It is an informational model to help people know what to watch for — not a measurement or a guarantee of pest activity.
Will it slow down my site?
No. It is a single lightweight script with no dependencies, loaded asynchronously. It renders into your page and caches aggressively, so it adds almost nothing to load time.
Which areas are covered?
Any of our supported Florida cities — from Bradenton, Sarasota and Venice across our Southwest Florida service area to Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Miami and more. Pick the city closest to your audience.
Can I match it to my brand?
The widget ships in clean Waves colors so visitors recognize it as a trusted local source. Drop the embed code where you want it; it is responsive and fits any column. For custom styling, just reach out.
