Waves Pest Control

Mosquito Control Estimate

Two programs: 9-visit seasonal (March through November) or 12-visit year-round. Treats the landscape harborage where mosquitoes rest between bites — not just a yard fogging. Canal-front and preserve-edge lots need the year-round program.

Local context

What to know in SW Florida

SW Florida mosquito pressure is driven by canals, retention ponds, mangrove edges, and six months of afternoon thunderstorms. Canal-front homes in Port Charlotte and Venice Gardens, preserve-edge lots in Parrish and North Port, and waterfront properties on Anna Maria and Charlotte Harbor all deal with species-specific pressure that a generic fogging can't touch.

Our 21-day treatment cycle matches the mosquito life cycle. Each visit targets the undersides of leaves, fence lines, lanai framing, shaded shrubbery, and bromeliad cups where mosquitoes actually rest — not open lawn. Standing-water audits eliminate breeding sites that generate new populations between visits. On coastal properties, we rotate products for the salt-tolerant species that come off the harbor and don't respond to standard treatment.

Answers

Common questions

How long does mosquito treatment last?
Each treatment holds for approximately 21 days under normal conditions. Heavy rain can shorten that window, which is why we monitor weather and schedule re-sprays when storms wash treatment off before the next visit.
Is mosquito treatment safe for pets?
Yes. The products we use are EPA-registered and dry in about 30 minutes. Once dry, they're safe for pets and children. We recommend keeping pets inside during application and for the drying window.
Should I choose seasonal or year-round?
Most inland homes do well with the 9-visit seasonal program (March–November). Homes on canals, near preserves, or on waterfront lots typically need year-round coverage because standing water and vegetation keep mosquitoes active even in cooler months.
What about standing water I can't eliminate?
We apply targeted larvicide to standing water sources that can't be drained — catch basins, canal edges, bromeliad cups, and preserve-buffer puddles. Larvicide breaks the breeding cycle before adults emerge, which is dramatically more effective than chasing adult mosquitoes.
How do you give a price without coming out?
We measure your property — lot size, landscape, and complexity — from satellite imagery, then run those measurements through our pricing engine alongside AI analysis of the yard. The number you see is the same number a tech would quote in person.
